PHOENIX—WorldHotels has introduced a new collection of outdoor-inspired accommodations, expanding its global portfolio with upscale glamping retreats and nature-based escapes.
Part of the BWH Hotels portfolio, the new WorldHotels Backdrop collection brings together such offerings as canvas-tented rooms and riverside cabins in scenic locations, including mountains, coastlines, and areas near national parks.
The launch comes as demand grows for travel experiences centered on nature, restoration, and immersive destinations. In 2025, the global glamping market was valued at $3.79 billion, and is projected to reach $7.87 billion by 2033, reflecting increased interest in outdoor experiences that combine natural settings with modern amenities.
“Today’s travelers are seeking more than a getaway; they’re looking for connection and purpose. It’s about meaningful moments in local neighborhoods and journeys designed to inspire a deeper connection,” says Ron Pohl, president of WorldHotels. “At WorldHotels, we’re committed to helping our guests discover the perfect basecamp for exploration, whether it be personal or professional. WorldHotels Backdrop brings to life our vision of allowing guests to fully experience remarkable outdoor environments while still enjoying the elevated hospitality that sets WorldHotels apart.”
The Backdrop collection includes several initial properties. In the Southwest, Zion Wildflower Resort, located near Zion National Park in Utah, offers safari-style accommodations with access to hiking, stargazing, and guided desert activities.
Additional expansion is planned, with potential destinations ranging from Vietnam to Africa and Australia.
For meeting planners, Backdrop properties offer adaptable indoor and outdoor layouts overlooking natural landscapes, creating a relaxed yet polished atmosphere for workshops, corporate dinners, and social gatherings. Event planners can take advantage of on-site kitchens, dedicated presentation areas, and natural surroundings.
