RENO, Nev.—As spring and summer travel picks up, Reno-Tahoe International Airport (RNO) is preparing to welcome an influx of visitors with several new and returning nonstop flight routes connecting major U.S. destinations to the “Biggest Little City.”

In a bid to support the region’s growing tourism and offer greater travel flexibility, Reno-Tahoe International Airport is expanding its flight offerings just in time for the seasonal rush. JSX, the award-winning hop-on jet service, will launch new summer seasonal service from Reno to Las Vegas (LAS) and Carlsbad (CLD) beginning June 19. The flights will operate four times weekly—on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays—catering to weekend travelers and leisure seekers alike.

Meanwhile, Frontier Airlines has added new nonstop service from Reno-Tahoe International Airport to Las Vegas (LAS) and Denver (DEN), strengthening connections to key western U.S. hubs. Additionally, Southwest Airlines recently introduced a new nonstop route to Austin, Texas (AUS), operating three times per week, providing convenient access to and from The Lone Star State.

These expanded air routes are expected to bolster visitor numbers to Reno Tahoe during a period packed with festivals, outdoor activities, and cultural events.

In anticipation of increased visitation to North Lake Tahoe, local officials are also taking steps to manage traffic and crowding at key natural attractions. Sand Harbor State Park will now require daily day-use vehicle reservations between 8:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. during peak season, from April 15 through October 15. Reservations—released in tiers—can be made at www.reservenevada.com or www.parks.nv.gov.

With a wide array of spring and summer happenings—from the Reno Rodeo to the Reno River Festival, and more—and new hotel and dining options drawing visitors downtown, Reno Tahoe’s accessibility is more important than ever. These air service additions are set to make it even easier for travelers to experience all the region has to offer.
