Reno offers planners a destination that balances big-city convenience with access to some of the region’s most stunning natural landscapes. “Reno Tahoe is an urban basecamp that gives business travelers the best of both worlds, combining thrilling outdoor adventure with a vibrant arts and culture scene and more than one million square feet of meeting space,” says Mike Larragueta, president and CEO of Visit Reno Tahoe, highlighting the city’s unique ability to blend professional resources with memorable experiences.

Reno delivers both scale and variety for planners seeking a wide range of meeting and event options. In addition to offering more than 15,000 hotel rooms, Reno Tahoe also offers four major event facilities. The Reno-Sparks Convention Center features 600,000 square feet of single-level exhibition and meeting space. Other options include Reno Events Center, with 118,000 square feet of flexible event space; Reno-Sparks Livestock Events Center, which provides indoor and outdoor space for equine, rodeo, and motorsports events; and the National Bowling Stadium, capable of hosting up to 4,000 guests for parties and other events.

Casino resorts add another layer of convenience for planners looking to combine lodging and meeting space. Grand Sierra Resort boasts more than 200,000 square feet of meeting space, while Caesars Entertainment properties—including Eldorado Resort Casino, Silver Legacy Resort Hotel & Casino, and Circus Circus Reno Hotel & Casino—offer additional flexible meeting space paired with a variety of dining and entertainment options.

Reno’s unique event venues provide a memorable backdrop for meetings. The Chateau at Incline Village, located on Lake Tahoe, offers lake and mountain views, the 5,200-square-foot Grand Ballroom, and outdoor grounds for lawn events. Greater Nevada Field, home of the Triple-A Reno Aces baseball team, provides space within the stadium, on the field, and throughout the adjacent Freighthouse District—perfect for teambuilding or a night at the ballpark. For something truly distinctive, the National Automobile Museum accommodates groups from 50 to 1,200 across more than 100,000 square feet, including a 157-seat theater with full audiovisual capabilities, and features more than 200 classic cars.

The city continues to invest in new and recently renovated venues, ensuring the destination stays fresh and appealing for meetings and events. “In Reno Tahoe, we’re always looking for ways to enhance our accommodations and attractions to improve the visitor experience,” Larragueta says. A prime example is the Nevada Museum of Art’s $60 million expansion, completed in August 2025. The campus now spans 120,000 square feet and features new gallery space, an education and research center, expanded environmental learning facilities, immersive installations, and a Perenn Bakery café. Visitors can explore new exhibitions, one of the country’s largest Indigenous Australian art collections, a research library, and a curated bookshop, making it an ideal venue for cultural programming, receptions, and unique offsite experiences.

Grand Sierra Resort recently broke ground on a 10,000-seat arena as the first phase of a $1 billion redevelopment. The new arena will serve as the future home of the University of Nevada men’s basketball team and will host nearly 100 events a year. The project will also bring new parking, public spaces, and future hotel and housing expansion. Peppermill Resort Spa Casino has completed extensive renovations to its guest rooms. Downtown, the Reno Revival project is breathing new life into the former Harrah’s property, with The Mint Bar now open and additional dining, residential, and commercial spaces on the way. The Reno Experience District continues to grow, with additions like Electric Pickle and Country Creamery.

Travel to the region is smoother and more efficient following major infrastructure upgrades at Reno-Tahoe International Airport (RNO). As part of the multi-year MoreRNO program, the airport recently broke ground on a new four-story Ground Transportation Center, which will house all rental car, taxi, and ground transportation operations. The project is also expected to break ground this year on new concourses (Gen A&B) and expand parking at the airport, according to Larragueta.

Reno offers a wealth of activities that extend far beyond the meeting room, giving planners and attendees plenty of options to balance business with adventure. Visitors can stroll the Reno Riverwalk District along the Truckee River, admire murals and Burning Man sculptures throughout downtown and midtown, or catch a Reno Aces game at Greater Nevada Field. Just a short drive away, North Lake Tahoe offers outdoor adventure year-round, from hiking and biking trails like the Tahoe East Shore Trail and Flume Trail to summer kayaking and paddleboarding at Sand Harbor State Park, and winter skiing and snowboarding at Mt. Rose Ski Tahoe, Palisades Tahoe, or Northstar. The combination of urban attractions, outdoor adventure, and family-friendly experiences makes Reno an ideal destination for planners seeking to blend work and play.

For indoor fun, Basecamp at Whitney Peak Hotel offers bouldering for all skill levels, making it perfect for group teambuilding. The Discovery Museum features 67,000 square feet of hands-on exhibits covering everything from dinosaurs to the water cycle. Many venues also double as creative event spaces for receptions or teambuilding activities.
