AURORA, Colo.—Gaylord Rockies Resort & Convention Center has promoted Matt Marshall as its new general manager. Marshall previously served as hotel manager, overseeing guest rooms, F&B, and event operations.
Marshall succeeds Suzy Hart, who has been appointed general manager of Gaylord Texan Resort & Convention Center.
Marshall has nearly 20 years of experience with Marriott International. Before joining Gaylord Rockies in 2022, Marshall served as hotel manager for San Antonio Marriott Rivercenter and Riverwalk, where he led both properties through a renovation while maintaining operational performance and guest satisfaction. Earlier in his career, he held leadership positions at several Marriott properties.
As hotel manager of Gaylord Rockies, Marshall helped lead initiatives focused on operational excellence, guest satisfaction, and associate engagement across the resort’s workforce of more than 2,000 employees. He also helped guide the resort through a major renovation and expansion, which included new dining concepts, enhanced meeting space, and elevated guest experiences.
“Matt has been an instrumental part of Gaylord Rockies’ success over the past four years,” says Suzy Hart, outgoing general manager of Gaylord Rockies Resort & Convention Center. “His commitment to our associates, guests, and community, combined with his proven operational expertise, makes him exceptionally well-positioned to lead the resort into its next chapter. I have every confidence that Gaylord Rockies will continue to thrive under his leadership.”
Marshall also serves on the Cherry Creek Innovation Campus Industry Advisory Committee, helping connect students with career opportunities in the hospitality industry.
“I am honored to serve as general manager of Gaylord Rockies and continue working alongside our exceptional team,” Marshall says. “This resort has established itself as a premier destination for meetings, events, and leisure travel, and I look forward to building on that momentum while continuing to create memorable experiences for our guests and opportunities for our associates.”
