
LAS VEGAS—The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA) has appointed Dan Hayes as chief operating officer (COO), effective November 3, 2025. In his new role, Hayes will oversee operations, expansion, and renovation projects at the Las Vegas Convention Center (LVCC) and guide the organization’s overall operational strategy and planning.
Hayes brings more than 25 years of experience in convention and event venue management. He previously served as general manager of the Salt Palace Convention Center and the Mountain America Expo Center in Salt Lake County, where he led a team of more than 600 employees and managed large-scale capital projects, including planning for the convention center’s $1.5 billion renovation.
“Dan has a proven track record of building high-performing teams, driving results, and bolstering key partnerships,” said Steve Hill, CEO and president of the LVCVA. “His vision will be instrumental in maintaining Las Vegas’ position as a leading destination for global events and ensuring an exceptional convention center experience.”
Throughout his career, Hayes has been recognized for advancing operational performance, workplace culture, and sustainability. His achievements include the Visit Salt Lake Tourism Achievement Award and multiple certifications for sustainable operations.
At the LVCVA, Hayes will oversee teams responsible for convention services, guest experience, facility operations, maintenance, and energy and utility management.
