INDIAN WELLS, Calif.—Grand Hyatt Indian Wells Resort & Villas has appointed Joe Alegre as director of sales and marketing, bringing more than 30 years of hospitality experience to the Greater Palm Springs destination.
Alegre will oversee sales and marketing initiatives for the 531-room resort, including its 43 luxury villas, 88,000 square feet of flexible meeting space, and dining and leisure amenities. His experience in revenue strategy, group business development, and service leadership will support the resort’s efforts to attract meetings and events.
Alegre began his career with Hyatt Regency properties across the West, holding sales and management positions in Indian Wells, Santa Clara, Newport Beach, and Bellevue, Wash. Most recently, he served as director of sales, events, and marketing at Hyatt Regency Phoenix, where his team consistently exceeded group and event sales goals.
Before that, Alegre held a leadership position at Signia by Hilton San Jose, where he increased revenue per available room (RevPAR) by 52% and doubled group pace. His previous leadership roles in the Greater Palm Springs area include positions at Hotel Paseo in Palm Desert, Miramonte Indian Wells Resort & Spa, and La Quinta Resort & Club and PGA West, giving him extensive familiarity with the local hospitality and meetings market.
Alegre’s appointment brings the experienced hospitality leader back to a resort and region where he has established professional roots, with a focus on strengthening sales performance and showcasing the property’s meeting and guest experiences to a broader market.
“Returning to the Greater Palm Springs area and rejoining the team at Grand Hyatt Indian Wells is a true homecoming for me,” Alegre says. “This resort holds a special place in my career, and I am excited to reconnect with a destination I know so well. I look forward to building strong teams, fostering a positive culture, and driving exceptional results as we showcase our world-class guest and meeting experiences to the world.”
Beyond his professional responsibilities, Alegre remains involved in the local community as a committee member of The Champions Volunteer Foundation, which supports philanthropic and charitable initiatives throughout the destination.
