Its historic downtown district has more than 30 art galleries, putting Silver City among the “100 Best Art Towns in America” by author John Villani. It also offers a thriving music and theater scene, with more than 50 murals as part of its Youth Mural Project.
There is also a restaurant for every taste, with more than three dozen eateries serving everything from whole foods to soul food, green chili stew, portobello burgers, and tapas.
Within 10 minutes of the cultural and historic downtown, Gila National Forest, Gila Cliff Dwellings National Monument, Continental Divide Trail, Trail of the Mountain Spirits, and more appeal to
outdoor enthusiasts.
The city offers several meeting spaces, including Grant County Veterans Memorial Business & Conference Center, located at the doorstep of Gila Wilderness. The conference center has 28,000 square feet of meeting space, affordable rates, and professional staff to help with meetings, conventions, and other events.
The 53-room Murray Hotel, housed in an Art Deco building dating to 1938, was renovated and re-opened in 2012. It is within walking distance of downtown and includes meeting space.
The Holiday Inn Express Silver City, an IHG Hotel can host smaller meetings in its conference room.
