INCLINE VILLAGE, Nev.—Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe Resort, Spa and Casino has promoted longtime Tahoe resident Ryan McKenzie to recreation manager. McKenzie will oversee the resort’s expanding Adventure program, focusing on outdoor and cultural experiences in North Lake Tahoe.
McKenzie has more than 15 years of experience in hospitality, recreation, and wellness programming. He began his career creating outdoor education programs and leading health and wellness retreats for nonprofit organizations and retreat centers across Northern California and the Sierra Nevada region. Previous positions include serving as director of programs at Calvin Crest and Zephyr Point Presbyterian Conference Centers, associate director at Westminster Woods Conference Center, and executive director for Arts for the Schools/Fox Cultural Hall. He was part of the Adventure team at Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe before the promotion.
In his new role, McKenzie will manage the resort’s daily recreation operations and help develop new activities that connect guests with the region’s history, culture, and natural environment. He will continue to oversee signature resort activities, including archery and guided hikes, while expanding programming centered on local culture and history.
“We are thrilled to promote Ryan McKenzie to recreation manager, where he will lead our incredible recreation team,” says Andrew DeLapp, resort manager of Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe. “McKenzie’s passion, creativity, and dedication to providing meaningful outdoor experiences that honor the land, history, and culture of the area make him an invaluable asset to our team.”
McKenzie moved to Incline Village at 6 months old and has spent his life exploring the forests, mountain trails, and eastern shoreline of Lake Tahoe.
“I am honored to continue my work with the Adventure team at Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe,” McKenzie says. “My goal is to lead our team in creating not only unforgettable experiences but also meaningful, place-based connections with nature, fellow travelers, and themselves. Through this program, our team has the opportunity to provide transformative experiences that are both accessible and meaningful, and stay with our guests long after their visit. I look forward to continuing to invest in our team and building something truly meaningful together while offering thoughtfully designed programming led by people who genuinely enjoy what they do. My goal is to foster a team culture rooted in integrity, inclusion, and empathy, which naturally extends to the guest experience.”
The resort’s Adventure program offers guided outdoor activities, including hiking, archery, meditation sessions, and other recreation experiences throughout North Lake Tahoe.
