TUCSON, Ariz.—JW Marriott Tucson Starr Pass Resort & Spa has completed a comprehensive renovation of its 115,000 square feet of meeting and event space, delivering desert-modern design, upgraded technology, and seamless indoor-to-outdoor experiences tailored for groups. The meeting and event renovations were part of a property-wide enhancement, which also refreshed the resort’s 522 guest rooms and 53 suites.

With the renovations, the resort can accommodate events of up to 3,300 people. It now features 38 flexible venues, including Tucson’s largest ballroom—the 20,000-square-foot Arizona Ballroom—and 26 breakout rooms. Spaces were redesigned to highlight the textures, tones, and rhythms of the surrounding Sonoran Desert, layering biophilic elements, native woods, woven textiles, and handcrafted details with sand, stone, and saguaro-inspired greens.

“Today’s meeting planners are looking for more than square footage; they’re seeking environments that foster clarity, connection, and energy,” says Daniel Padilla, director of sales and marketing. “This transformation reimagines how groups come together at Starr Pass, blending thoughtful design, intuitive flow, and desert-rooted experiences that elevate both productivity and presence. Our goal was to share the real Arizona with the world, and to create spaces that feel as inspiring as they are functional, and unmistakably authentic to Tucson.”

With the refreshed guest rooms and suites, renovated indoor space, and outdoor gathering spaces like the Reflection Pools and Salud Terrace with cabanas and fire features, the resort offers planners a fully integrated destination. Meetings can naturally flow into open-air receptions, shared meals beneath desert skies, and wellness experiences, including hiking, stargazing, and spa services.
