LAS VEGAS—MGM Grand Hotel & Casino has completed a $300 million remodel of 3,969 rooms and suites in its main tower, marking a significant update to the Las Vegas property. The redesigned accommodations draw on disco-era aesthetics while incorporating features intended for both business and leisure travelers.

Architecture firm Gensler, working with MGM Resorts Design & Development, led the redesign. Updates include spa-style walk-in showers with glass enclosures, brighter porcelain finishes, integrated illuminated closets, and enhanced blackout drapery. Rooms now feature wall-mounted smart TVs, upgraded minibars with separate guest-use refrigerators, and charging stations equipped with USB, USB-C, and traditional outlets on both sides of the bed.

The design references the disco era through artwork and patterned finishes. MGM king rooms incorporate walnut accents and colorful carpeting, while two queen rooms feature gray stone details, vertical sconces, and tailored headboards. Custom artwork, including LED pieces, appears throughout the tower.

The renovation also adds 111 suites, bringing the hotel’s total to 753. The new suites range from 675 to 1,784 square feet and include updated layouts intended to improve privacy and accommodate both work and relaxation. Suite bathrooms have been redesigned with double mirrors, quartz benches, and updated showers.

“MGM Grand has long stood out as one of the most iconic resorts on The Strip, and this remodel marks an ambitious step forward in the resort’s evolution,” said Mike Neubecker, president and COO of MGM Grand. “Inspired by our guests’ feedback, we’ve designed rooms that deliver what both business and leisure travelers value most, providing a thoughtful balance of style, comfort, and functionality.”

Alongside the room upgrades, MGM Grand has launched several new dining and entertainment concepts. NETFLIX BITES, a dining venue featuring dishes inspired by Netflix programming, is now open. Palm Tree Beach Club, developed with DJ Kygo’s Palm Tree Crew, offers a tropical day-club environment. The FRIENDS Experience introduces an interactive attraction based on the television series.

The resort also recently unveiled FREQNCY, a new residency from dance group Jabbawockeez. Morimoto, MGM Grand’s contemporary Japanese restaurant, is undergoing a design and menu refresh scheduled to debut in late November.
