During a Las Vegas Stadium Authority meeting on March 6, the Oakland Athletics (A’s) Major League Baseball (MLB) team presented new renderings for the team’s planned ballpark on the Las Vegas Strip. The updated images provide more specific details of the project, including features not previously addressed. Notably, the home and visitor bullpens will be stacked together beyond the left-field wall, and the foul territory will be shortened, bringing the closest seats to the field of any MLB stadium.

The A’s reached agreements with the Las Vegas Stadium Authority in December 2024, covering lease terms, non-relocation clauses, development, and community benefits. The $1.75 billion, 33,000-seat stadium, designed by Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG) and HNTB, is set to break ground in the second quarter of 2025, with construction expected to begin in June. The project is slated for completion by Opening Day 2028, after the team temporarily relocates from Oakland, Calif., to Sutter Health Park in west Sacramento, Calif., for the next three seasons.

In preparation for the move, the A’s have hosted several events in southern Nevada, including a two-game exhibition series against the Arizona Diamondbacks at Las Vegas Ballpark as part of “Big League Weekend.”
