The Fairmont Breakers, a historic property in downtown Long Beach, Calif., has reopened following a $150 million restoration. Initially opened in 1926 as The Breakers, the property was Long Beach’s first luxury boutique hotel and has now been revitalized with modern features while preserving its historical significance.
The updated hotel includes 185 rooms and 22 suites, a two-story spa, a third-story pool, and a rooftop lounge. Returning features include The Sky Room restaurant, a prominent dining destination since 1938.
“After extensive renovation, Fairmont Breakers returns as Long Beach’s luxury hotel,” said general manager Mark Steenge. “It restores one of California’s most storied properties to its original grandeur.”
The Sky Room on the rooftop continues its legacy as a fine-dining restaurant, offering harbor views, elegant cuisine, and cocktails. Additional dining options include Nettuno, an Italian restaurant offering casual dining and weekend brunch, and La Sala, which serves espresso, pastries, afternoon tea, and cocktails in a greenery-filled setting.
The Fairmont Breakers is located at 210 E. Ocean Blvd., in downtown Long Beach.
