Sheraton San Diego Hotel & Marina, a fixture for more than 50 years, has completed a $100 million renovation aimed at revitalizing the 1,053-room property. According to Travel Weekly, the extensive overhaul includes redesigned guest rooms, the addition of four new dining options, and three swimming pools, bringing a fresh energy to the hotel, which was acquired by KSL Resorts in late 2019.
One of the key updates is Brewery X, a new eatery that opened this past summer. As per the Travel Weekly report, the restaurant adds a vibrant atmosphere to the hotel’s lobby, where guests can enjoy creatively named dishes, such as the Hot Chick sandwich and Walter White pizza, while watching sports on large screens. The lobby has also been transformed into a communal space with areas for dining, working, and private booths for calls and virtual meetings.
According to Travel Weekly, the refreshed lobby, now lighter and more open, aims to foster a sense of community, offering a welcoming environment for both travelers and locals.
The property’s prime coastal location, paired with new culinary offerings inspired by San Diego’s diverse food scene, positions it as a vibrant hub. Sarah Newcomer, the hotel’s director of marketing, told Travel Weekly, “We’re bringing the best of San Diego to our guests.”
The renovation follows Marriott International’s strategy to revitalize the Sheraton brand.
