The Mining Exchange, a newly renovated 128-room hotel, has opened its doors as the first Registry Collection Hotel in the United States. Located in downtown Colorado Springs, Colo., the Wyndham hotel—housed in a historic building once serving as the region’s stock exchange for gold and silver—blends modern amenities with its rich heritage.
“Today’s affluent travelers increasingly crave the bespoke and immersive experiences that boutique, independently minded operators can offer,” says Geoff Ballotti, president and CEO of Wyndham Hotels & Resorts. “Through Registry Collection Hotels, we’re committed to curating these one-of-a-kind experiences for guests.”
The hotel features multiple culinary outlets, a full-service spa, and an art gallery called The Vault. Guests can start their day at BLK MGK, the hotel’s coffee bar, which offers locally sourced beverages and pastries. In the evenings, the indoor-outdoor bar, Golden Hour, provides a space for drinks and live jazz performances.
Bashar Wali, founder and CEO of Practice Hospitality, which manages the hotel, says, “We are honoring that heritage by creating a hotel imbued with local touches and human connection.” The revitalization includes modern guest rooms with exposed brick and marble finishes, along with 15,000 square feet of conference and event space.
As part of the opening promotion, Wyndham Rewards members can earn double points and a $25 nightly credit when booking by December 31, 2024, with stays completed by May 31, 2025.
