SOUTHERN UTAH

VisitCedarCity.com; @VisitCedarCity—Set at the foot of Utah’s majestic mountains and surrounded by red-rock beauty, Cedar City offers a rare blend of rural charm, cultural richness, and easy access to iconic landscapes, making it a standout destination for meetings and events. “Long known as the ‘Gateway to the Parks,’ Cedar City and its surrounding communities offer a great blend of rural mountain getaway with a short drive to some of Utah’s most beautiful national parks and major airports in Salt Lake City and Las Vegas,” says Kaylee Pickering, communications specialist for Visit Cedar City·Brian Head.
Cedar City delivers when it comes to spaces that inspire connection. The city is home to Festival Hall and the Heritage Center Theater, a combined space offering 18,735 square feet of space, including 10 versatile meeting rooms and a 986-seat theater.
Southern Utah University also opens its campus facilities to outside groups, offering three spaces ideal for conferences, lectures, and receptions. The Courtyard by Marriott offers 6,920 square feet of meeting space, including five rooms with banquet capabilities. Meanwhile, the Ramada by Wyndham rounds out Cedar City’s options with 2,400 square feet of meeting space, including five meeting rooms.

Currently, Cedar City offers approximately 1,349 guest rooms—plus 342 in Brian Head and 58 in Parowan—but it continues to expand its hotel options and meeting capacity with new and upcoming developments, Pickering says. The Valor Hotel features 77 guest rooms and two conference spaces. Expected to open in late 2025, downtown Cedar City will welcome a brand-new Hampton Inn. This 96-room hotel will feature an indoor pool and a parking garage.
While Cedar City offers strong meeting infrastructure, what truly sets it apart is its ability to deliver unforgettable experiences outside of the agenda. With the Utah Shakespeare Festival right in town, attendees can enjoy world-class performances just steps from their hotels or meeting spaces. The Southern Utah Museum of Art invites guests to engage with local and regional exhibits in a contemporary setting.
The outdoors is just as inviting. Groups can explore the trails of Thunderbird Gardens or book a guided horseback ride through the scenic countryside with Rising K Ranch. Brian Head Resort, Utah’s highest base-elevation ski resort, is a four-season playground with group-friendly offerings like mountain biking, scenic lift rides, disc golf, and ziplines in summer, and skiing and snowboarding in winter. Cedar Breaks National Monument is just minutes from Brian Head, offering stargazing programs and hiking opportunities.

Outpost X adds another layer of fun to the agenda. This other-worldly attraction lets groups drive sand cruisers, jump on trampolines, and bike the dry playa. Group rates and day passes make it easy to add teambuilding fun into a multi-day event, Pickering notes.
Cedar City’s culinary scene is driven by local flavor. Attendees can expect a range of options from 87 locally owned restaurants. A standout is I/G Winery, southern Utah’s premier winery, perfect for an evening tasting or reception. Two of the area’s local farms, Red Acre Farm and Sweet Pea Farm & Orchard, cater farm dinners—a perfect addition to any meeting or event.
