COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.—Visit Colorado Springs (Visit COS) has named Sean Dixon as its next president and CEO, following a national search led by executive recruitment firm SearchWide Global.
Dixon will succeed Doug Price, who plans to retire in November. Dixon is expected to begin in late October and work alongside Price during the transition.
“We are thrilled to welcome Sean Dixon as the new CEO of Visit COS,” says Visit COS Board chair Michelle Talarico. “Throughout the search process, he stood out for his strategic vision, collaborative leadership style, and genuine enthusiasm for our community. We look forward to partnering with him to strengthen our tourism economy and continue sharing the remarkable story of Colorado Springs and the Pikes Peak Region.”
Dixon most recently served as president of Visit Topeka, a role he has held since 2020. Before joining Visit Topeka, he was marketing director for the Springfield, Missouri Convention & Visitors Bureau. During his six years at Visit Topeka, Dixon led destination marketing and tourism development initiatives focused on strengthening the visitor economy and improving the visitor experience.
He earned a master’s degree in communication and a bachelor’s degree in mass media from Missouri State University.
“I’m thrilled to join Visit Colorado Springs and for my family to become part of this community,” Dixon says. “Throughout this process, I’ve been inspired by the pride people take in Colorado Springs and the Pikes Peak Region, and by their enthusiasm for what’s ahead. I’m grateful for the Board’s trust and am excited to build on Doug Price’s legacy alongside a talented team and dedicated partners. I look forward to getting to know the people who make this region special and working together to create opportunities through tourism.”
