LOS ANGELES—The Los Angeles Tourism & Convention Board (Los Angeles Tourism) has appointed Eileen Hanson as its new chief marketing officer. Hanson, a marketing executive with more than 25 years of experience, previously served on the organization’s marketing committee during her time with Westfield.
“Eileen’s breadth of expertise, combined with her deep knowledge of the global marketplace and passion for our ‘City of Angels’ will be incredible assets to our team,” says Adam Burke, president and CEO of Los Angeles Tourism. “Her proven success in building world-class brands, cultivating meaningful partnerships, and delivering innovative marketing strategies makes her uniquely qualified to help elevate LA’s global presence as a premier destination for leisure travel, meetings and conventions, and major events.”
Hanson most recently served on the executive team at Vantage Group, a global airport and transportation investment and management company, where she led integrated global marketing efforts. Her background also includes senior roles at Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield, where she oversaw marketing for major airports and retail destinations, such as Los Angeles International Airport, Chicago O’Hare, and Westfield World Trade Center. She also held leadership roles at Hilton Worldwide, serving as vice president of marketing strategy and communications. There, she directed global marketing for the Hilton Honors loyalty program and oversaw its rebranding campaign.
“Los Angeles is a city filled with creativity, energy, and innovation, and I’m excited to work with the entire team and our partners across the globe to share LA’s story with the world,” Hanson said. “As we look to the monumental years ahead, we have an opportunity to showcase the very best of Los Angeles in ways that connect with visitors, planners, and communities alike.”
Hanson’s appointment underscores the organization’s focus on strengthening partnerships and enhancing the city’s position as a top destination for visitors and major events.
