Graduate by Hilton will open its first property in Colorado after the brand’s investment partner acquired a 116-year-old hotel in Boulder, Colo. AJ Capital Partners has announced it has taken over Hotel Boulderado and will roll out a renovation across the property before unveiling it as part of the Graduate Hotels portfolio. The deal marks a new partnership with the building’s owners, Frank and Gina Day.

“The Boulderado is more than a hotel—it’s the pride of the city, an iconic part of Boulder’s distinct character and charm,” said Ben Weprin, founder of Graduate Hotels and CEO of AJ Capital Partners. “We are thrilled and honored to partner with the Days, who have been passionate stewards of this beloved property for more than four decades. Together, we look forward to honoring The Boulderado’s unmistakable spirit, celebrating its history, and introducing thoughtful touches that will elevate the guest experience for generations to come.”

The bedrooms will be renovated, and other public spaces will be enhanced to form the renovation project, slated to begin later this year.

Graduate Hotels, a collection of university-town hotels, was launched in 2014 by AJ Capital Partners and now operates as a brand under Hilton Worldwide following a deal last year.

Hotel Boulderado has been a staple in the community since opening on New Year’s Day in 1909. The refurbishment will be sensitive to the building’s history, incorporating Italian Renaissance and Spanish Revival architectural styles.
