
Scottsdale, Ariz.— Sanctuary Camelback Mountain, A Gurney’s Resort & Spa has named Laura McIver its new managing director. McIver, who has more than 30 years of experience in the hospitality industry, will oversee resort operations, guest experiences, and workplace culture.
McIver served as general manager for more than 15 years at several hotels and resorts in the Southwest, including Miraval Resort in Tucson, Ariz., Rancho Valencia in Rancho Santa Fe, N.M., El Encanto in Santa Barbara, Shutters on the Beach in Santa Monica, and, most recently, Stanly Ranch in Napa (Calif.).

Spanning 53 acres, the resort features a 12,000-square-foot spa, pools, tennis courts, 110 casitas and suites, and eight private villas designed for a relaxing retreat with seasonal, locally inspired dining.
