Commonwealth Hotels announced the appointment of Dorian Franklyn Phillips as the new general manager (GM) of The ART Hotel, Curio Collection by Hilton in Denver. Phillips brings more than a decade of experience in hospitality management and aims to drive operational efficiency and enhance guest experiences at the 165-room hotel in Denver’s Cultural District.
In his new role, Phillips will oversee daily operations, guide service delivery, and support team development to uphold the standards of The ART Hotel’s reputation for contemporary hospitality.

Phillips joins The ART Hotel Denver from The Benson Hotel in Aurora, Colo., where he was also GM. At The Benson, Phillips was noted for his operational focus and dedication to service quality. His experience with Commonwealth Hotels spans more than five years, during which he advanced through leadership roles, including director of F&B and assistant GM.
A graduate of the Culinary Institute of America, Phillips holds a bachelor’s degree in culinary arts management and an associate degree in occupational studies in culinary arts. This background brings a unique perspective to his hospitality approach, blending operational insight with culinary expertise.
Phillips has expressed enthusiasm for his new position, stating his aim to build a culture of innovation and collaboration among the staff. His approach emphasizes teamwork and adaptability.
The ART Hotel Denver, known for its curated contemporary art collection, offers a distinctive guest experience. The hotel features works curated by Dianne Vanderlip, former curator at Denver Art Museum, alongside the cosmopolitan FIRE restaurant and outdoor lounge, catering to locals and travelers.
