LAS VEGAS—Rio Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas has officially joined the Destination by Hyatt brand, following the first phase of a $340 million property-wide renovation. Owned and managed by Dreamscape Companies, Rio Hotel & Casino is now the largest property by room count in Hyatt’s global portfolio and the first Destination by Hyatt property in Nevada.

Phase one of the renovation transformed the 1,500-room Ipanema Tower with a bold new design inspired by Rio de Janeiro’s vibrant culture. The resort also introduced six distinct dining options within the Canteen Food Hall, including concepts catering to diverse tastes. The hotel’s 220,000-square-foot meeting and convention space was fully updated to meet modern event needs, while the revamped three-acre pool district features four pools tailored for families and adults. Enhancements to the gaming floor added more than 500 new slot machines and 30 table games.

Other additions include the Lapa Lounge, a cocktail venue inspired by Rio de Janeiro’s iconic Lapa neighborhood, and Luckley Tavern & Grill, offering casual all-American dining. A newly installed programmable light show, designed by Chris Kuroda and Andrew Giffin, now illuminates the resort’s exterior.

The project’s second phase will focus on redesigning the Masquerade Tower and its public areas, aiming for a cohesive experience across the property.

Rio Hotel & Casino participates in the World of Hyatt loyalty program, allowing members to earn and redeem points and enjoy exclusive benefits. Located at 3700 W. Flamingo Road, the resort offers a distinctive Las Vegas experience just off the Strip.
