RENO, Nev.—Visit Reno Tahoe has announced new developments, upcoming events, and flight additions as the city heads into ski season. The updates highlight ongoing revitalization projects, cultural programming, and expanded travel options to close out the year.

Several large-scale projects are reshaping the region. The Reno Bank Building, part of the Reno Revival redevelopment, opens its first phase in November with The Mint Bar, the first of 10 planned restaurants. Grand Sierra Resort has broken ground on a 10,000-seat arena—part of a $1 billion expansion that will add new event venues, housing, and recreation spaces by 2027. Reno-Tahoe International Airport (RNO) also began work on a 440,000-square-foot Ground Transportation Center as part of its MoreRNO modernization program.

New flight routes include Alaska Airlines’ year-round San Diego–Reno service; Southwest’s Austin–Reno route, resuming November 2; and Frontier’s Phoenix–Reno flights, launching November 22.

Cultural updates include the Nevada Museum of Art’s new exhibition Into the Time Horizon, featuring nearly 200 artists exploring environmental art and climate themes.

Nearby ski resorts are preparing for the season with upgrades and anniversary events. Mt. Rose Ski Tahoe opened November 8 following a $6 million investment. Palisades Tahoe, Northstar California, Heavenly, Diamond Peak, and Kirkwood will all open between mid-November and early December, each with special events and promotions.

“As temperatures cool, Reno Tahoe heats up with a wide breadth of outdoor activities and holiday festivities,” said Mike Larragueta, president and CEO of Visit Reno Tahoe. “By exploring diverse activities and annual events across the city, new and returning travelers can experience the destination like never before. This season, the region promises world-class adventure, holiday cheer, and dynamic cultural experiences.”

The region’s holiday calendar includes a range of events, such as Home for the Holidays with the Reno Aces, Christmas on the Comstock, the Tahoe Film Festival, the Sparks Hometowne Christmas Celebration, the Reno Santa Crawl, and The Nutcracker at Grand Sierra Resort.
