The Meritage Resort & Spa in Napa Valley, Calif., announced the completion of a $25 million renovation, showcasing a transformation of its guest rooms and resort facilities. The renovation, funded by the Busch family and Pacific Hospitality Group, offers guests an elevated experience complementing the scenic vineyards of the property. Located on more than 36 acres with nine acres of vineyards, The Meritage Resort & Spa aims to give guests a premier Napa Valley experience.
The renovation encompasses 322 redesigned guest rooms of the resort’s existing 467 guest rooms and suites. Designed by leading hospitality design firms, the renovated guest rooms offer two distinct options: the 157 Meritage rooms, inspired by modern vineyard farmhouse aesthetics, and the 165 Bordeaux rooms, paying homage to the property’s Mission-style architecture. Both room types feature luxurious amenities to ensure a comfortable stay.
Additionally, the renovation includes enhancements to the lobby, bar area, ballrooms, meeting rooms, bowling lounge, café, and grab-and-go outlet. Two new dining options, the Ember Steakhouse and Sora Napa Champagne lounge, have also been introduced, along with the renovation of the existing Blend Café and Crush Lounge. Additionally, the resort now features a chef’s vegetable and herb garden, a dining terrace for open-air dining among the vines, and a coop for chickens.

HBA San Francisco designed the rooms, corridors, ballrooms, and meeting rooms. Hatch Design re-imagined the lobby and bar. In-house designer Charlotte Einar was the creative lead of design for other areas.
The renovation aligns with the recent launch of the Stay Golden loyalty program by the Meritage Collection, offering exclusive benefits and discounts to members. “Our goal is to capture the spirit of the vines that attract people to the region while redesigning the overall resort experience to appeal to discerning travelers with a passion for places that provide a well-balanced mix of natural beauty, restfulness, adventure and togetherness to draw them back time and again,” says Joe Leinacker, managing director of The Meritage Resort & Spa.
