Matt Greene returns to Hard Rock Hotel San Diego as MD

Hard Rock Hotel San Diego has named Matt Greene as its new managing director (MD). Greene, who previously served as the hotel’s general manager from 2008 to 2011, brings more than 30 years of experience in the hospitality industry. His career includes significant roles at Highgate Hotels, Evolution Hospitality, and W Hotels.

Most recently, Greene was executive vice president (VP) of Luxury & Lifestyle Residences at Highgate Hotels, managing a range of high-end condo-hotels and new developments. Prior to his time at Highgate Hotels, Greene was executive VP of Lifestyle Operations at Evolution Hospitality, overseeing a large portfolio and numerous new projects in the United States and Mexico. He also directed more than 40 new property developments for W Hotels Worldwide.

In his new role at Hard Rock Hotel San Diego, Greene will oversee renovations, new food and beverage concepts, and enhanced programming. His prior success with the hotel and extensive industry experience are expected to contribute to the property’s continued growth and development.
