Carmel Valley Ranch, nestled in the foothills of California’s central coast, recently unveiled a multimillion-dollar renovation project aimed at elevating its guest experience. Part of the Unbound Collection by Hyatt, the 500-acre resort implemented significant enhancements across various amenities to balance luxury and sustainability.
Led by design firm HBA San Francisco, the renovation project incorporated elements reflective of the natural landscape of Carmel Valley, Calif. From Valley Kitchen restaurant to the Think Tank meeting venue and family-friendly River Ranch hub, each area received attention to detail.
Valley Kitchen, the culinary heart of Carmel Valley Ranch, completed a total revitalization. With a refreshed dining area, private dining room, and outdoor spaces, guests can now enjoy an enhanced ambiance, blending rustic charm with contemporary flair. Chef de cuisine Ricardo Aguilar curated menus to emphasize fresh, locally sourced ingredients, many of which are grown onsite.
The reimagined Think Tank offers sweeping valley views, along with state-of-the-art audiovisual equipment, making it an inspired setting for meetings and events. Special packages tailored for corporate travelers and executive retreats complement the space.
River Ranch, the resort’s family-friendly all-ages playground, also received a makeover. New amenities include a children’s wading pool and splash pad, an updated adventure clubhouse, and an expanded family game zone. Expanded lounge seating at the family pool and cozy fire pits were also created. Carmel Valley Ranch offers a “Munchkin Menu” and a variety of child-friendly activities and artisan-led programs. Starting May 1, families can book The Ranch’s “Bring the Family” package, which includes accommodations, golf, spa treatments, and a special night out for parents.
