California hospitality students receive more than $175,000 in scholarships

The California Hotel & Lodging Association Hospitality Foundation (CHLAHF) has awarded more than $175,000 in scholarships to 62 students from 14 California colleges and universities pursuing degrees in hospitality, tourism, and culinary arts.

This scholarship program aims to support students committed to careers in the hospitality industry. Michael Pace, chair of CHLAHF and general manager of InterContinental Mark Hopkins Hotel in San Francisco, emphasized the foundation’s role in fostering future leaders in the field. “These students have the potential to redefine the lodging industry,” Pace said.

The recipients will be recognized at the 2024 Scholarship Awards Gala, scheduled for October 24, 2024, at Manchester Grand Hyatt San Diego.

The universities with the highest number of recipients are:

San Diego State University: 18

California State Polytechnic University, Pomona: 15

University of San Francisco: 5

San Francisco State University: 4

California State University Monterey Bay: 4
