MANITOU SPRINGS, Colo.—Glenbrook Lodging Corp LLC has acquired the historic The Cliff House at Pikes Peak, with plans to renovate the 54-room property while preserving its nearly 150-year legacy.

The hotel, located in Manitou Springs at the base of Pikes Peak, was built in the early 1870s as a stagecoach stop connecting Colorado Springs and Leadville during the state’s mining boom. It later evolved into a mineral resort and boutique hotel known for its Victorian architecture and historic character.

Mark Wyant, president of Glenbrook Lodging Corp. LLC, says the renovation will focus on enhancing the guest experience while maintaining the building’s historic identity.

“The Cliff House at Pikes Peak is a true Colorado treasure, and I know and respect that this property has a long and storied history,” Wyant says. “The Cliff House at Pikes Peak will reflect the beautiful renovations and new energy I will bring to the resort and all its amenities.”

The company plans a comprehensive restoration, which will include updating guest rooms and suites, preserving historically named accommodations, and adding new F&B concepts designed to complement the hotel’s Victorian style and mountain setting.

“My primary goal is to embody the hotel’s beautiful architectural design while, at the same time, introduce an upgraded luxury and energy, which will attract even more guests to The Cliff House at Pikes Peak,” Wyant adds. “My plans include renovations of the hotel rooms, common areas, and hospitality settings, as well as the addition of exciting entertainment venues, which will bring a new vitality to The Cliff House.”

The Cliff House has long been a focal point in Manitou Springs, a town known for its mineral springs and historic downtown. The property is a popular destination for weddings, corporate retreats, and leisure travelers.

This project will follow the same restoration approach Wyant used on other historic hotels, including properties in New Orleans, Key West, Fla.; Charleston, S.C.; and Galveston, Texas. In Galveston, the company restored the Grand Galvez hotel, combining modern upgrades with efforts to reintroduce original 1920s design elements.

Wyant, a Dallas native, has built a career revitalizing historic properties in markets known for tourism and business travel.

“I’m a history lover and strategically select development properties that are in key United States cities known for their history and excellent leisure, business, and entertainment experiences,” Wyant said. “In every historic location, my primary goal is to embody and respect the legacy, charm, and history of the region.”
