NORTHEAST REGION
VisitSantaRosaNM.com; @VisitSRNM—Another stop along the famous Route 66, Santa Rosa offers visitors a place to step back in time. The town is filled with service stations, cafés, and motor courts to accommodate motorists traveling the “Mother Road.” It is also home to Route 66 Auto Museum, with more than 30 classic cars on display.
In addition, Santa Rosa is called the “Scuba Diving Capital of the Southwest” due to the Blue Hole, a natural artesian spring with a depth of 81 feet, which opens up to a 130-foot-wide bottom. More water fun can be found at Santa Rosa Water Park, Santa Rosa Lake State Park, and Perch Lake.
Talking about stepping back in time, a scenic drive to Pecos River Bridge, Puerto De Luna, and Old St. Rose Lima Chapel takes visitors back to the trail days.
Visitors can find plenty of food options at more than a dozen eateries.
Though a small town, Santa Rosa offers several hotels with meeting space. Quality Inn & Suites offers a 2,500-square-foot meeting room with a capacity of 150 people. Comfort Inn Santa Rosa on Route 66 has a 1,800-square-foot meeting room, while Hampton Inn Santa Rosa, LaQuinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Santa Rosa, and Holiday Inn Express Santa Rosa, an IHG Hotel all offer conference rooms.
