Los Alamos

NORTH-CENTRAL REGION

VisitLosAlamos.org; @VisitLosAlamosLos Alamos boasts rugged beauty, with three national parks and plenty of trails to explore. Home to Los Alamos National Laboratory, it has a diverse population and combines small-town appeal with world-class activities, accommodations, and restaurants.

The city is also home to Bradbury Science Museum, Los Alamos History Museum, Bandelier National Monument, Pajarito Mountain Ski Area, and Frijoles Canyon.

The county offers an array of dining experiences, from traditional Southwestern fare to global cuisines to cozy cafés. Planners should consider adding a tasting tour because it is also wine country.

Meeting spaces include Duane Smith Auditorium, which can accommodate 1,000. Other facilities include the historic Fuller Lodge, Betty Ehart Senior Center, Del Norte Credit Union, Century Bank, and Cottonwood on the Greens.

Los Alamos has several accommodations, including Holiday Inn Express & Suites Los Alamos Entrada Park, an IHG Hotel; Hampton Inn & Suites Los Alamos White Rock; and Days Inn by Wyndham Espanola. In addition, Alamo Motel offers a unique, vintage throwback to the motor-inn era.

Wingate by Wyndham Los Alamos, formally the Comfort Inn, is now open for business. Located at the base of the Jemez Mountains, the hotel is near Los Alamos National Laboratory and Manhattan Project National Historical Park.
