MCLEAN, Va.—Hilton recently launched Outset Collection by Hilton, the company’s 25th brand and the eighth in its lifestyle portfolio, with the opening of Slackline Moab, Outset Collection by Hilton in Moab, Utah.
The new brand is designed for travelers seeking “soulful, independent hotel experiences” and reflects what Hilton describes as rising demand for boutique properties with distinctive identities.
In addition to Slackline Moab, the collection will comprise more than 60 hotels in development, with a long-term potential for more than 500 properties across the United States and Canada.
Just a short drive from both Arches and Canyonlands national parks, Slackline Moab features 138 guest rooms and offers guided experiences, trail-friendly dining, and a stocked gear shop. It also features an 800-square-foot meeting room with a capacity of 72 for receptions.
“At Hilton, we continue to reimagine what’s next in hospitality, and today, we’re delivering it,” says Chris Nassetta, Hilton president and CEO. “Outset Collection is an expression of our commitment to growth, innovation, and meeting the evolving needs of travelers around the world. By expanding our Lifestyle portfolio, we are broadening the ways guests engage with Hilton and unlocking new possibilities for our owners, our teams, and the communities we serve.”
Outset Collection builds on the company’s strong pace of conversion growth. In the second quarter of 2025, conversions across 10 Hilton brands made up more than one-third of new openings. The new brand will focus on flexible design standards, allowing hotels to maintain local character and “story-driven” aesthetics, whether in renovated landmarks, small-town boutiques, or offbeat adventure destinations.
Owners will be able to tailor amenities and experiences based on market demand and guest preferences. Food and beverage offerings, for example, may range from light-bite cafés to full-service lunch and dinner concepts.
“Independent hotels thrive when they can preserve their unique character while tapping into the power of a global hospitality leader,” says Chris Silcock, Hilton’s president of global brands and commercial services. “With Outset Collection, we are offering owners the flexibility they want without compromising on quality. By combining one-of-a-kind properties with Hilton’s powerful commercial engine and commitment to exceptional product, service, and technology, we’re elevating our value proposition across the board.”
