VisitParkCity.com; @VisitParkCity—Nestled just 35 minutes from Salt Lake City International Airport, Park City is a premier destination for meetings and events, seamlessly blending small-town charm with big-time offerings. Its accessibility for domestic and international travelers makes it a logistical dream for planners, while the town’s breathtaking scenery, rich heritage, and versatile venues keep attendees engaged long after the last session ends. “The combination of accessibility, outdoor adventure, and world-class amenities is wrapped in an atmosphere of charm and a relaxed mountain town vibe,” notes Carolyn Creek-McCallister, senior national sales manager for Park City Chamber & Visitors Bureau. “Whether groups include outdoor enthusiasts, history buffs, or lovers of arts and culture, Park City has something to offer.”

Much of Park City’s appeal lies in its rich mining town roots. The city got its start as a silver mining town in the 19th century, evolving into a vibrant community that honors its roots, Creek-McCallister says. Historic Main Street is the heartbeat of the community, where visitors can stroll colorful storefronts, boutiques, and galleries and dine in top-tier restaurants while taking note of the area’s preserved heritage. The Park City Museum adds context to the destination, giving attendees a glimpse into the trials and triumphs of the city’s mining past.

Park City boasts 27 meeting hotels with a total of 3,907 guest rooms. Planners looking for fresh accommodations and venues will find plenty to love in Park City. The Ascent Park City by Hilton, slated to open in fall 2025, is Park City’s newest meeting property, offering 120 hotel suites and nearly 6,000 square feet of meeting space in the scenic Canyons Village. The Ascent Park City is adjacent to its sister property, the Waldorf Astoria Park City, which offers 160 guest rooms, 6,000 square feet of outdoor space, and approximately 4,489 square feet of indoor space. Nearby, Pendry Park City opened in 2022 as the first resort in Pendry Resort’s portfolio, bringing sleek design and modern luxury to the area. It features 175 guest rooms, 16,000 square feet of outdoor space, and 8,200 square feet of indoor space.

Deer Valley properties continue to raise the bar. Stein Eriksen Lodge in Park City—an iconic property with 180 guest rooms and more than 22,000 square feet of indoor space—recently completed extensive renovations, enhancing both guest rooms and conference and event spaces. Its sister property, the 120-room Chateaux Deer Valley, has also undergone major upgrades, including updates to all common areas, guest accommodations, and a refreshed interior courtyard. The 220-room Montage Deer Valley also recently completed a full refresh of its guest rooms and upgrades to its spa. The 179-room St. Regis Deer Valley and 102-room Hyatt Centric have each refreshed their offerings. Goldener Hirsch, part of the Auberge Resorts Collection and an iconic fixture in Deer Valley for more than 30 years, has added 40 modern residences and a new conference center to its existing offerings, which include approximately 12,394 square feet of indoor space.

Park City’s culinary landscape continues to thrive as a haven for food and beverage enthusiasts. From locally sourced elk chili to rainbow trout and artisan cheeses, the town offers menus that take guests on a unique gastronomic journey, Creek-McCallister shares. High West Distillery & Saloon and the Refectory at Blue Sky Ranch provide immersive dining and whiskey experiences ideal for private events, such as whiskey tastings, whiskey making, and guided tours. At Alpine Distilling, groups can take part in gin-blending workshops, where they craft their own personalized spirit—a unique take-home gift.

Recreation is woven into the fabric of Park City, offering attendees ample opportunity to relax, recharge, and connect. “Park City’s diverse range of recreational and teambuilding opportunities ensures every group meeting is memorable and impactful,” says Creek-McCallister. “Whether the group prefers outdoor adventures or more relaxed pursuits, our town has something to offer.” Popular teambuilding options include flyfishing in nearby rivers and streams, biking and guided hikes on the town’s extensive trail network, and golfing on one of several courses in town. For winter groups, ski mountaineering clinics and snowshoeing tours offer active alternatives to the typical breakout session.

Park City is home to the Utah Olympic Park, a holdover from the 2002 Winter Olympics and a future venue for the 2034 Winter Olympics. Groups can channel their inner athlete by taking part in adrenaline-pumping activities. “Whether soaring down the zipline, racing down the tubing hill or alpine slide, navigating the ropes courses, or feeling the rush of hurtling down the Olympic bobsled track, Utah Olympic Park is a standout choice for groups seeking unforgettable memories,” Creek-McCallister adds.

Park City neighborhoods, referred to by locals as “Mountainkind communities,” each bring their own vibe and value to meetings, says Creek-McCallister. Located at the entry corridor to Park City, Kimball Junction offers coworking spaces and versatile hotels near shopping, dining, and entertainment. Canyons Village is a playground for adventurers, with gondola rides, ziplines, and mountain guided tours, along with a variety of accommodations, event spaces, and on-mountain venues. Deer Valley delivers luxury with slope-side meeting facilities, recreational opportunities, and five-star service.

Sustainability is a guiding principle in Park City. “Park City is not only conscious of its environmental impact but also actively working to mitigate it,” Creek-McCallister shares. The city focuses on innovative programs, community engagement, and forward-thinking policies to achieve its sustainability goals, which include achieving net-zero carbon emissions community-wide by 2030. Park City has implemented numerous initiatives to achieve this mission, including a free bus system and investing in electric buses, extensive bike trails and pedestrian pathways to encourage non-motorized transportation, and more than 200 e-bikes available across town.

Major events throughout the year add another layer of energy to Park City’s meetings appeal. The annual Food & Wine Festival, Kimball Arts Festival, summer music festival, and seasonal ski competitions are just some of the signature happenings planners can take advantage of each year. “Our Mountainkind niche is not just a place to hold an event; it is a destination that transforms meetings and gatherings into unforgettable experiences,” Creek-McCallister adds. “The unique blend of accessibility, world-class facilities, breathtaking scenery, diverse range of activities, historic allure of Main Street, and Olympic legacy of Utah Olympic Park ensures Park City remains a favorite among meeting and event planners worldwide.”
